On
June 28th, Mike Jackson and Honey Run will host the first
annual
to benefit the Middle
Tennessee Chapter of the Make a Wish Foundation.
Bluegrass
on the Greenway will feature up to 15 local and regional
bluegrass groups performing at various locations along the
3.5 mile
White House Greenway walking trail, which circles the
city of White House and borders Honey Run Creek on the south
and east loops. There
will be BBQ, snacks and drinks along the way, provided
by local area churches, plus activities for the kids (and
the kids at heart) scattered throughout the trail.
Shuttle services will be available at all trail heads in the
city and will run at 15 minute intervals to help folks get
from one area of the trail to another if they don't want to
walk the entire length. Folks
will have the opportunity to talk with Make a Wish
representatives to learn more about the foundation and how
it helps grant wishes to children in Middle Tennessee who
have life threatening illnesses. There will be lots of
opportunities to make donations directly to the foundation,
plus one hundred percent of all net proceeds from food,
drink and T-Shirt purchases will be given to the foundation
as well. The
Greenway is open all the time, but the music and festivities
will begin at 9:00 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 2:00
p.m.
If
you would like to make a donation, but can't be at Bluegrass
on the Greenway, you may email us at
jacksonshoneyrun@comcast.net
and we will give you complete information on how you can
make a donation. 100% of your donation will be given
to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
